Frequently Asked Questions

No. Unfortunately, copyright laws prevent us from selling CDs of our broadcast programs. However we sometimes give away returned discs from our stations with certain Waveform titles we sell and with our donation package. These are almost gone, so act soon if interested. Choose the Waveform Records option when you click on ‘Order’ from our main menu to learn more about the free CDs we include with donations and remember we also offer our ‘‘Premium Playlist Subscription Service.’

Yes, at Mixcloud.com/starstreams. We are adding more shows there on a regular basis. The DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act), constrains and outlaws certain programming practices and it compromises your listening options. Support our efforts to keep the music flowing by becoming a patron or with your welcome donations.

No. We pick from thousands of CDs in our library for our shows. However, if you view any playlist you’ll see tracks sprinkled in from all the Waveform titles we sell, just like you see tracks from other labels. So though the answer is no, all the Waveform titles we sell are heard in our programs.

You can listen to streams from anywhere, whenever you like, on your smart phone, tablet or computer. The best listening option is at Mixcloud or by using their Mixcloud app. Our always changing roster of individual affiliate radio stations airing our program often broadcast online as well. We’re also heard online on iHeart and Youtube and as a podcast on Tunein, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Play, iTunes and other places.

Please start by reading our terms of usage and familiarizing yourself with the style of music we use – mid to downtempo, exotic electronica. If you think your stuff fits, send links to listen on Bandcamp (with Yum codes if available), Sound Cloud or via wetransfer. We prefer .wav files or a regular CD over mp3s. Send CDs to Musical Starstreams, PO Box 979, Kihei, HI 96753-0979 USA and then watch our playlists to see if it worked for us.

Our Mixcloud.Com/Starstreams broadcasts display the artists and song titles within the embedded player at the bottom of the page while you listen and within the Mixcloud app in the middle of the page displaying our show logo. For more detailed info, determine the program number that’s playing, then look up its playlist in our playlists archive. The best listening option is Mixcloud which is currently free, has no major interruptions and displays song titles and artists within the player window while listening from a browser or their Mixcloud app full page display. Click the ‘Play All’ button at the top of our main Starstreams page on Mixcloud to create a full-time radio station of our shows. These song titles and artists usually also display within the embedded Mixcloud players that open at the bottom of the pages here on our site.

Because online streams are hosted many places and because radio stations insert local breaks in shows, it’s impossible to identify a song that played at exactly “10:57pm.” Check the Mixcloud player, or look over our playlists archive for more detailed info.

If it’s a title on the Waveform label, buy it there at the best prices, save money and support our program. For digital downloads we recommend Bandcamp. You can always search for the artist, song or album on google. Most storefront retailers stock only hits and won’t have a clue about this music. They can special order some titles but you’ll wait and probably pay more. There are many download and streaming options too, if you’re not interested in CDs of the music.
